Disney Village is the area between the two Disneyland Paris theme parks and the Disney Hotels. You can go here all day for food, drinks, and souvenirs. It starts with breakfast and ends with dancing until the wee hours of the morning.
To access the stores and restaurants in Disney Village, you don’t need an entrance ticket. After being checked by security, you will be granted access to the area. Even if you are not staying in a Disney Hotel or do not have a valid entrance ticket.
Many people will go to Disney Village to eat. But with so many choices, you may be wondering, what is the best restaurant in Disney Village?
We have been coming to Disneyland Paris since 1993 and have tried almost every restaurant several times in those almost 30 years. Here’s our pick for the best restaurant!
Restaurants in Disney Village
Before we land on the best restaurant, here’s a rundown of the restaurants in Disney Village:
- Annette’s Diner
- Café Mickey
- Cool Stop
- Earl of Sandwich
- Five Guys
- King Ludwig’s Castle
- La Grange in Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon
- New York Style Sandwiches
- Planet Hollywood
- Rainforest Cafe
- Sports Bar
- Starbucks Coffee
- The Steakhouse
As you can see, you have plenty of choices, and there is something for everyone. Let’s take a look at each one.
Annette’s Diner is a restaurant with table service. This is also something special because the servers wear roller skates, a true spectacle.
They serve mainly hamburgers that are freshly made in the open kitchen. And they are also known for their delicious but very filling milkshakes.
Café Mickey is the restaurant in Disney Village where you can eat with Disney characters. They do not come and sit at your table, but they walk around the restaurant and stop at every table. Here they chat, you can take a picture with them and ask for an autograph.
Although you go to this restaurant to experience the Disney characters, you can, of course, also eat there. Café Mickey has an Italian menu with fresh pizzas, pasta, and meat dishes.
Cool Stop is not really a restaurant, but a food truck with some tables. Here they serve well-known fast food dishes, including hot dogs and crêpes.
Earl of Sandwich
Earl of Sandwich is a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant. Here you can get freshly made sandwiches that you can eat in the restaurant or take away. They have a wide selection of toppings, and you can have the sandwiches made to your taste, similar to Subway.
Besides sandwiches, there are some other dishes on the menu, including soups and salads.
Five Guys is an American hamburger restaurant that can be compared to McDonald’s. However, the hamburgers here are generally of much better quality. And the piece of meat on them is also much bigger.
It is a big bite, so usually, for me just a hamburger is enough. But you can also order fries and other side dishes. There are seats to eat your meal in the restaurant, but you can also take it with you.
King Ludwig’s Castle
King Ludwig’s Castle is like an old castle inside. Lots of wooden details and knights. With a German menu. On this menu, you will find familiar dishes such as pretzels, grilled chicken, various meat and veg dishes, and of course, a schnitzel.
You can also order fresh flammkuchen (German flatbread pizza) that you can keep to yourself but can also easily share. The same goes for the beer mugs!
La Grange at Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon
Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon is a bar in Disney Village that includes a restaurant. The restaurant is called La Grange and is located in the same building as the bar, on the second floor.
At La Grange, they serve a buffet with all kinds of Tex-Mex dishes. Lots of meat, grilled vegetables and lots of desserts. It’s a popular restaurant because of the – for Disney – relatively low price of € 34.99 per person, and you can eat as much as you like. Children pay only € 17.99 and also for them there is enough to eat, there are always fries, pizzas and fresh vegetables.
Well, McDonald’s most of you will know. There is also a McDonald’s restaurant in Disney Village. Ordering is also easy here via the screens; you can even do it in your own language. Keep in mind that, although the menu is similar to home, the burgers (and sauce) taste different in France. Personally, I like the sauce better in France. But of course, that’s personal.
In this McDonald’s in Disney Village, the number of seats is limited. You can better take the food to your room or find a place outside to eat it.
New York Style Sandwiches
New York Style Sandwiches is a small restaurant in Disney Village where you can get sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, and wraps. They’re not the most adventurous of dishes, but they’re quite affordable and easy to take to your room or the Disney parks.
As you can see, the Planet Hollywood building is impossible to miss. It is a wildly popular restaurant with an American menu. Think meat, fish, and veg dishes like burgers and spare ribs.
Inside it is almost as special. There are items from famous movies on the wall, which are really worn by the actors in movies like Lord of the Rings and Terminator. Nice to quietly view when you’re inside. It is a restaurant with table service that can be quite noisy. There are all large TV screens where pieces from famous movies are shown with accompanying sound systems.
Rainforest Café is a special restaurant. Not so much because of the menu, which is fairly standard, but because of the atmosphere. The restaurant is inside just like a jungle. With moving animals. For children, a real experience. For adults, not the best place to quietly eat, because it is really a family restaurant. But for families, ideal!
The Sports Bar is a bar with a restaurant section. While enjoying a beer, wine, hamburger, or pizza, you can watch sports here. This can be a popular soccer match or something topical like the Olympics. It is a table service restaurant where most of the tables are outside under a canopy.
Starbucks, you probably know by name as well. This famous American coffee chain also has a branch in Disney Village. Except for various coffees, you can also get breakfast and various savory and sweet snacks. But you should definitely go here for the mugs. As you know, every Starbucks establishment has its own “You are here” mugs, and so does Disneyland Paris.
But be careful, my Starbucks mug from Disneyland Paris broke the other day when I put tea water in it. So they are more collector’s items, I guess…
The Steakhouse is a restaurant in Disney Village with lots of meat on the menu. Large cuts for real enthusiasts. There are also some other options, including a hamburger (also vega to order), but this is still the place for real meat lovers.
It is a fairly pricey restaurant. The cheapest option is to take the menu of 34 euros. This consists of a starter and main course without drinks.
We ended up at the last restaurant in Disney Village: Vapiano. This is a pizza restaurant where you can eat fresh pizza inside or take it out. They also have other Italian dishes on the menu, including pasta, antipasti, garlic bread, and salads.
Through the website Vapiano.fr, they also offer the click and collect option. You then order online in advance and can pick up this order at the appointed time.
What is the best restaurant in Disney Village?
Now that you’ve read all the descriptions of the restaurants, you may have already chosen a favorite. The best restaurant in Disney Village is also very personal.
For us, it’s Annette’s because of the value for money. Here you can eat well without a huge bite out of your budget. We usually go here for lunch because it’s not so crowded during this time.
For families, the best restaurants in Disney Village are Café Mickey, Rainforest Café, and Annette’s. These are the restaurants where there is plenty to see and do besides eating. You go here for the experience. And the food is fine, too. Especially if you have Disney fans, Café Mickey is a must anyway. You can have your picture taken with the Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, without waiting in line.
For couples/groups without children
Do you want to eat something in Disney Village as a couple or group of adults? Then the following restaurants are a good choice: Planet Hollywood, La Grange at Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon, and the Steakhouse.
Planet Hollywood has the least good food of the three but the best atmosphere. For a budget-friendly option, I would go to La Grange and, for a good piece of meat, the Steakhouse.
Then again, Annette’s is still a good option if you’re craving a good burger.
Finally, then King Ludwig’s is also a good option if you crave a German beer in addition to your meal.
Don’t want to spend too much money on food? Then you can go to McDonald’s, Earl of Sandwich, Vapiano, Five Guys, or New York Style Sandwiches. These are all restaurants where you have to find a table yourself after ordering. So you are not served, but it does make a difference in the price.
If you have something to celebrate
If you have something to celebrate, then, of course, you do this in a special restaurant. There is only one in Disney Village, namely The Steakhouse. A somewhat more luxurious restaurant with large pieces of meat on the menu. There are also vega options available for both adults and children. And because of the luxurious experience, perfect if you have something to celebrate.
