Going to Disneyland Paris with small children

Disneyland Paris is a dream for many little kids. Meeting their favorite characters, and feeling like a princess, prince, pirate, or even a villain.

As a parent, you are more than happy to take your little one(s) to this theme park, but you want to make sure they have the best possible time. Especially, since it’s an expensive destination that many of you will only go to once in a lifetime.

In this article, we will share with you our experience on taking little children to Disneyland Paris

From what age to Disneyland Paris?

Disneyland Paris is suitable for kids of all ages. If you want to make sure they remember their visit it’s best to wait a little until they are about 7 or older. They probably won’t remember their entire trip, but at least will hopefully create some lifelong memories.

The other plus side of waiting until they are at least a bit older is that they can go on every ride in the park. If they want to of course. There are some ride that have height restrictions, especially the scarier rides.

If your little one is into rollercoasters, and thrills, then waiting until they are a bit older is probably your best bet.

Attractions with height restrictions in Disneyland Paris

Autopia

Of the about 30 rides in Disneyland Paris, some have height restrictions. This means that anyone under that certain height is not allowed to ride it. The height will be measured at the entrance of the ride.

Attractions in Disneyland Paris with a minimum height are:

  • Flying Carpets over Agrabah (81cm)
  • Autopia (81cm)
  • Toy Soldier Parachute Drop (81cm)
  • Big Thunder Mountain (1.02m)
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (1.02m)
  • Star Tours (1.02m)
  • Crush’s Coaster (1.07m)
  • RC Racer (1.20m)
  • HyperSpace Mountain (1.32m)
  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril (1.40m)

In addition, these are the thrill rides and might not be suitable for your children, even if they do meet the minimum height. In the end, you know what’s best for your child, and what type of rides they can handle.

As most attractions in Disneyland Paris are indoors, it’s sometimes difficult to determine how thrilling they actually are. Therefore, consult the app and the sign at the entrance of each ride for more information.

Best Disney hotel for small kids

Camping Disneyland Parijs
Hotel Cheyenne

All 6 of the Disneyland Paris hotels are suitable for young children. However, our favorite is Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne.

This hotel is built like a western town, with a bank and a saloon. As there are no cars allowed in the streets, children can freely roam around, and even explore the village on the back of a horse. Another plus of this hotel is that it’s one of the least expensive Disney Hotels.

Another great hotel for children is Disney’s Hotel New York: the Art of Marvel. This is a classy hotel with a Marvel theme. Guests of this hotel can exclusively visit the Super Hero Station where they can take pictures, and meet Spider-Man in a private setting.
