But when is the best time to visit Disneyland Paris? What are the pros and cons of visiting during different seasons? And what are some special events that happen at Disneyland Paris throughout the year? Let’s find out!
Things to consider before planning a trip to Disneyland Paris
The best time of year to visit Disneyland Paris really depends on what you’re looking for. Do you prefer warm weather? Are you looking to avoid crowds, or are you okay with a little wait in line? And are there special seasonal events you don’t want to miss?
Here are some things to consider when deciding when to visit Disneyland Paris.
Crowds
Crowds are among the most significant factors to consider when deciding the best time of year to visit Disneyland Paris. Weekends, school holidays and French National Holidays are the busiest time in the parks. If you want to avoid crowds, visit during the weekdays or non-holiday periods.
During warmer months, it also tends to be a bit more crowded. We usually try to visit the resort in mid-November or early June. Temperatures are still lovely, and it’s before the French school holidays start.
The Christmas holiday is one of the busiest times to visit Disneyland Paris.
Weather
Another thing to consider is the weather, which can make or break a good day in the parks. The summer months of June through August are typically the hottest and most crowded. It can get hot, especially during August. So make sure to book a hotel with a pool.
If you don’t mind a little cooler weather, spring and fall are lovely times to visit Disneyland Paris.
Winter can be a magical time to visit as the parks are decorated for Christmas. However, keep in mind that it does tend to be colder and rainier.
Special events
Another thing to consider when deciding the best time to visit Disneyland Paris is what kind of events are going on. Throughout the year, Disneyland Paris has many different events going on that might interest you and your family. Christmas, Halloween, New Year’s Eve, and now the 30th Anniversary of the resort-all these events have special celebrations going on at the park that are definitely worth checking out.
Christmas in Disneyland Paris is probably the most popular season. And it’s our favourite as well. We love all the Christmas lights, the snow in Main Street U.S.A., and the magical shows and parades.
Halloween is also a popular time to visit as the park transforms into a spooky place with pumpkin decorations and Halloween-themed entertainment. On selected nights, there is a separately ticketed event where Disney villains and Pirate zombies will be your worst nightmare.
Until September 2023, Disneyland Paris will celebrate its 30th birthday with lots of festive surprises. We enjoyed the drone show Disney D-light and the two new rides in Avengers Campus that opened in July of this year.
Other things to consider
Remember that no matter when you visit Disneyland Paris, it will be busy, and you must be prepared for crowds. The best way to deal with the crowds is to have a plan. Download the Disneyland Paris and decide what your family wants to see and do ahead of time. That way, you can make the most of your time at Disneyland Paris, no matter when you go. We’ve also created guides on the best restaurants and the rides you don’t want to miss.
We recommend getting to the parks early. When you stay in a Disney Hotel, you get Extra Magic Time. This means you can enter the parks one hour before other guests and experience some of the most popular rides before the crowds get in. So if you are going during peak season, this can save you a lot of time.
Another thing you need to do is make restaurant reservations as early as possible. Preferably 60 days in advance. This will help you guarantee a spot at some of the most popular restaurants in Disneyland Paris.
What’s our favourite time of the year to go to Disneyland Paris?
We love visiting Disneyland Paris in June or November. In June, the weather is lovely, and the crowds are not as large as during the summer holiday. Mid-November is the best time to experience the Christmas season without the crowds.
If you have to visit during the school holidays, always check how many European countries have holidays simultaneously. And always look at school and public holidays in France. That way, you’ll know how busy it will be.
So, when is the best time to visit Disneyland Paris? It depends on what you are looking for. Remember the weather, crowds and events going on to help make your decision. No matter when you choose to go, you are sure to have a magical time.
