Captain Jack’s Restaurant at Disneyland Paris review

Captain Jack’s at Disneyland Paris is a themed restaurant that immerses guests in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. Located in Adventureland, the restaurant is designed to replicate the atmosphere of a pirate’s hideout, with rustic decor and dim lighting.

In addition to a wide selection of seafood, Captain Jack’s serves delicious meat dishes and vegetarian options for adults. Kids’ meals are available too. Bring the whole family and make sure you reserve your spot – due to its immense popularity, reservations should be made in advance. You can enjoy this waterfront restaurant from 11:30 am until 5:00 pm daily.

Since I first heard about this restaurant, it’s been on my list of places to visit when visiting Disneyland Paris. On our most recent trip, we finally decided to try it and here is what we thought!

About the restaurant

Inside Captain Jack's Restaurant

Captain Jack’s restaurant is a unique dining experience inside the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland Park. The location allows diners to watch boats full of park guests glide by as they enjoy their meals.

We were fortunate enough to be seated close to the water, which is, without a doubt, the best spot in this restaurant. However, brace yourself for some friendly waves from aboard Pirates of the Caribbean as they pass by!

As you are part of the restaurant’s decor, the lights were dimmed, creating a tranquil atmosphere ideal for an intimate conversation with a beautiful view. The only downside was that it made it slightly difficult to read the menus.

The menu at Captain Jack’s Restaurant

Captain Jack’s menu offers a diverse range of appetisers, entrees, and desserts, focusing on seafood. Starters include cod fritters, fish soup, and Caribbean guacamole. We decided on the Cod fritters and Chopped smoked chicken with papaya. Both were generous portions and very tasteful.

We decided to try the Mahi-Mahi steak and Caribbean Chicken with prawns as our Main Course. While the Mahi-Mahi was satisfactory, we much preferred the flavour of the Chicken and prawns. To top off this meal, we finished with a delightful shortbread and delectable chocolate tart – both were scrumptious!

If you are visiting with little ones, first check the menu on the Disneyland Paris app. The atmosphere is great, but the children’s menu might be too adventurous with items such as Vegetable tartare and quinoa salad.

Also, if you are a vegetarian or vegan, this might not be the best restaurant as there is a limited selection of dishes. We did hear some great things about the Vegan curry, though.

Prices and portions

The prices of the menu items at Captain Jack’s Restaurant are a bit higher than other table service restaurants in Disneyland Paris. Appetisers on the menu range from €17 to €19, Main courses range from €32 to €38, and desserts range from €15 to €16.

Our meal was a total of €140 for two people, without drinks and the Annual Pass discount. Next time we will opt for the fixed Pirate’s Treasure Menu at €45 per person for a three-course meal without a drink, as that is a much better value.

And if you are on the Disneyland Paris meal plan, you will be getting a pretty good deal, as the value of the vouchers is about €35, and you will get the €45 meal with a drink.

Is Captain Jack’s Restaurant at Disneyland Paris worth it?

For me, it was worth it, as I was mainly there for the experience and not the food. The atmosphere was amazing, and I enjoyed waving at all the guests passing by in the Pirates of the Caribbean boats. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience and don’t mind the price tag, then you should definitely give this restaurant a go.

And if you are on the Disneyland Paris meal plan, this restaurant is a great value for money. We will visit this restaurant again, but only with a meal plan because otherwise, it’s a bit above our budget.

If you are mainly looking for a good value meal, there are better options at Disneyland Paris like PYM Kitchen, Downtown Restaurant or Bistrot Chez Remy. Those restaurants are similar in price but offer many different food options that appeal better to picky eaters.

So is it worth it? It really depends on your expectations. Are you going for the experience and the location inside the ride? Then you will love it. But if you are going for the food, you might want to try other Disneyland Paris restaurants.
