Avengers Campus is the newest section in the Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. It is completely dedicated to Marvel, and so are the attractions.
There are two new attractions in this section:
- Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
- Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
Both are absolute musts during your visit. But what exactly are these attractions?
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is a roller coaster in the dark where you shoot through sharp corners at high speed and go through multiple inversions.
The story behind the attraction is that you must lure missiles away from Earth in a fast spaceship. After this, Iron Man and Captain Marvel will defuse the missiles.
The briefing is given by Iron Man, this is the highlight of the attraction. This animatronic is lifelike. For example, just notice how smoothly his fingers move.
After this, it’s time to board the space vehicle, a roller coaster car. You are launched and then go through an inversion at high speeds.
During the ride, it is mostly dark. Around you, you occasionally see Captain Marvel, Iron Man and the rockets pop up. Although it is often only a flash, what you are able to see.
After disembarking, you can buy your ride photo at one of the kiosks. You can pay for it directly or link it to your Photopass.
Who has been to Disneyland Paris before will recognize this attraction as the old Rock ‘n Rollercoaster. The track and the cars are still the same, otherwise it is a completely different attraction.
This ride is suitable for anyone who likes thrill rides. There is a minimum length, so not everyone can ride it. It is quite a tough roller coaster, at high speed, several inversions and in the dark. Therefore not suitable for everyone.
Do you find this attraction just too scary, but do you want to see the Iron Man animatronic in the queue? That is possible. You can leave the queue after the animatronic without having to ride the roller coaster.
Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure is the other attraction in Avengers Campus. This one is for the whole family, young and old.
In this attraction, you are introduced to the latest invention of Peter Parker. Of course, everything does not go as planned and soon your help is asked in solving the problem.
The Spider-Bots, the invention of Peter Parker, can multiply themselves. They do so at such a rapid pace that the entire building—and Avengers Campus—is filled with spider bots. It’s up to you, the visitor, to eliminate as many of these spiders as possible, and help Spider-Man.
Disabling the spiders is done by shooting spider webs, from your wrist, just like Spider-Man would do. To do this, you have to take a seat in a special vehicle.
After this, the workout begins, because the more spiders you want to hit, the faster you will have to move your arms. The cart stops in front of several screens on which spiders appear. When you extend your arm, you can hit the spiders with cobwebs. This works really well.
After a few levels you will hopefully have defeated the spiders, and it is time to leave the attraction. You can then also see who has achieved the highest score. Fun to compete against each other!
This attraction can be compared to a video game. Very interactive and you are constantly moving. The spiders are not scary, so this attraction is suitable for everyone. Also, the trolley rolls very quietly from level to level, it is not really thrilling.
This attraction is mostly fun, you will leave with a big smile and a little sore muscles. And you probably can’t wait to improve your highest score.
