Disneyland Paris in July 2023 – Weather, Crowds, and things to do

July is a popular month to visit Disneyland Paris due to the summer holidays in Europe. Most schools will be out in July, meaning many people will travel abroad for some well-needed fun and rest. We’ve visited Disneyland Paris in July multiple times; this is what you can expect!

Disneyland Paris weather in July

The weather in July is everything you expect from the Summer. Warm to hot days and a bit cooler nights. The temperatures during the day will be 25 degrees Celsius or more, and at night will go down to about 15 degrees Celsius. Most days will be sunny with just a small chance of rain.

Most Disney Hotels, with the exception of Hotel Santa Fe, have rooms with air conditioning, and you will be happy to have a cool place to sleep. Bring some light clothing but leave your flip-flops for the pool; if you don’t want blisters, then make sure to wear sneakers with socks. Believe me; blisters will ruin your stay. Also, bring a hat to protect your head from the sun, as well as some sunscreen and make sure to apply it multiple times per day. And finally, bring a refillable water bottle because you need to stay hydrated, and drinks at the parks are pretty expensive (between €3,50 and €4,00 for a bottle of soda).

Crowds

Parade crowds in July 2022

It can be really crowded in July, with the parks reaching capacity on some days. On the 14th of July, there is a French national holiday, which means most people will have a day off from work. We’ve been to Disneyland Paris on a national holiday, and it was really crowded, there was a traffic jam just to get to the parking lot, and the park wait times were at least 45 minutes.

Those waits are pretty typical for Summer in Disneyland Paris. If you want to avoid the crowds as much as possible, start your day early, take a break in the afternoon and return to the parks in the early evening. Most people will look for a spot for the fireworks in the hour before the park closure. You can go on popular rides with a much shorter wait if you don’t mind missing the show. Only the rides in Fantasyland will be closed because of the fireworks.

Things to do

  • In July, you can see all the entertainment for the Grand Finale of the 30th Anniversary of the resort. There are special shows, parades, merchandise, character meetings, and snacks.
  • Take some time out of your day to enjoy the pool in your Disney Hotel or book a ticket for Aqualagon, a large water park with seven pools, multiple slides, and more, at Villages Nature Paris.
  • Most rides and shows will be open with the exception of Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast until July 12, Cars Road Trip until July 8, and Le Pays de Contes de Fees and Casey Jr. the little circus train from July 10 until early August.

Is July a good time to go to Disneyland Paris?

If you like sunny weather and rain-free days, July is a great time to go. Expect the Summer crowds that will result in wait times of at least 30 to 45 minutes for most rides. If you don’t want to wait, consider buying Premier Access for the most popular rides. And make sure to make your park and dining reservations as early as possible. Park reservations are only necessary if you have an undated ticket or annual pass.
