Summer is a great time to plan a family trip to Disneyland Paris. With all the attractions, shows, and characters, it’s certain to be an unforgettable experience for everyone! However, with temperatures often reaching 35 °C or more in the summer months, it’s important to cool down after a long day in the parks. And what better way to do so than at one of the many hotels with swimming pools in and around Disneyland Paris?
Disney Hotels with a pool
When it comes to beating the heat at Disney Hotels in Disneyland Paris, many great options are available. The first and most obvious option is the Disneyland Hotel. Its beautiful grounds offer a cosy respite from the hot summer sun. You can also take advantage of its pool area, which includes indoor and outdoor pools and a hot tub. Unfortunately, this hotel is currently closed due to an extensive refurbishment, a reopening is planned in 2024.
Fortunately, there are other Disney Hotels with a large pool, such as Disney Hotel New York—The Art of Marvel, Disney Newport Bay Club and Disney Sequoia Lodge. All these hotels have indoor and outdoor pools with loungers and a hot tub, and the pool in Sequoia Lodge even has a slide. Disney Hotels that don’t have a pool are Disney Hotel Cheyenne and Disney Hotel Santa Fe.
If you prefer something more rustic, try out Davy Crockett Ranch, where you can rent cabins in a wooded area just 10 minutes from the Disney Parks. Of course, you can also enjoy the large pool with a slide and hot tub when staying here.
Lastly, Villages Nature Paris, located next to Disney Davy Crockett Ranch, offers modern villas and flats set amidst lush gardens with plenty of activities, such as hiking trails and a very large indoor water park containing seven pools, multiple slides and lots of other water fun. If you are not staying at this resort, you can buy a ticket just to visit the water park.
Disneyland Paris area hotels with a pool
Outside the Disneyland Paris resort, plenty of hotels offer a pool, such as the Explorers Hotel, Dream Castle Hotel, the Radisson Blu and the Grand Magic Hotel (formerly Magic Circus). The plus side of these hotels is that they are usually cheaper than staying on property.
But unfortunately, this also means you will have to take a shuttle bus to travel to and from the parks. This can be quite uncomfortable on warm days, and getting back to your hotel for a quick dip will not be as easy. The Disney Hotels are all within walking distance of the parks, so you could be in a pool in just 15 minutes.
Tips for staying cool during your visit
As mentioned before, it’s important to be prepared for the hot summer days when visiting Disneyland Paris to ensure you stay cool and comfortable. First, ensure you wear light, breathable clothing that won’t trap too much heat against your skin. Drink lots of water throughout the day, and bring an empty bottle with you so you can refill it easily. Seek shade whenever possible by going through the shops, having a nice sit-down meal or visiting indoor attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours or HyperSpace Mountain. Another great way to cool down is to visit one of the many shows or return to your hotel for an afternoon nap.
During the summer months, the parks are open late, so take breaks when it gets too warm, dip in the pool, and come back to enjoy the parks when the sun has gone down.
